The Republican Center for Coordination of Transplantation and High-Tech Medical Services of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a state organization that provides round-the-clock coordination of the organ donation and transplantation system in Kazakhstan.
The purpose of the Center’sactivity is to establish an effective national organ donation system and to advance the science of transplantation in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Who needs an organ transplant?

Anyone—adult or child—may need a transplant. Organ failure can result from various diseases, and transplantation may be the only way to save a life.
How do I register my consent for posthumous organ donation?

You can register your decision at your local clinic or through the eGov.kz portal. After submitting your application and confirming your identity, your consent will be recorded in the National Register. You will receive a certificate, and you may change your decision at any time.
What type of consent system does Kazakhstan follow?

Kazakhstan follows the system of presumed consent. However, even if a person has given consent during their lifetime, organs can only be retrieved with permission from their relatives.
What is the position of world religions on organ transplantation?

All major world religions permit organ donation and transplantation as long as it is done without commercial gain and with the intention of saving lives. In particular, the Russian Orthodox Church, Islam, and Catholicism support transplantation when guided by compassion and necessity.
Is the sale of organs allowed in Kazakhstan?

No. The sale of organs is prohibited and punishable under the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Donation is allowed only on a voluntary and non-commercial basis.
